The above view of the Tor was painted from a photograph with some of the buildings in the background excluded. The paintings were painted a few years ago now and it has been seven years since I last visited this ancient and fascinating town steeped with history, legend and mythology. I have visited Glastonbury many times and have a certain affinity for this locality and often when returning home felt the need to paint scenes from the area, most particularly the iconic Tor. It is supposed to be painted in the impressionist style though it is more like Naive art perhaps? Whatever I did this recently trying to get to grips with painting on Bamboo paper with acrylicsīelow are some older paintings of mine the subjects of which are Glastonbury Tor and Wearyall hill. The following painting is of a blossom tree with Glastonbury Tor in the distance.
